RAK WisMesh Tag

RAK WisMesh Tag

The WisMesh Tag is a compact Meshtastic device designed for portable location tracking and mesh messaging. With a 1000mAh battery and IP66IP66An enclosure rating under IEC 60529. Dust-tight, and protected against powerful water jets. weather resistance, it is built for rugged outdoor use.

Specifications

  • MCUMCU (Microcontroller Unit). The microcontroller that runs the firmware on a device. The hardware tables list the MCU for each supported board.
    • nRF52840nRF52840A Nordic microcontroller from the nRF52 family, used in devices such as the RAK WisBlock core modules. Provides Bluetooth LE 5.0 and very low power consumption.
      • Bluetooth BLEBLE (Bluetooth Low Energy). The default wireless connection between a node and a phone client. 5.0
      • Very low power consumption
  • LoRaLoRaA low-power, long-range wireless communication technology used by Meshtastic devices to enable communication over distances of several kilometers without the need for cellular, Wi-Fi, or other traditional network infrastructures. Transceiver:
    • SX1262SX1262A Semtech sub-GHz LoRa transceiver, used in most current Meshtastic hardware and recommended over the older SX127x series.
  • Frequency Options:
    • 868-923 MHzMHz (Megahertz). A unit of frequency equal to one million hertz (cycles per second), used to specify the operating frequency of LoRa devices in the Meshtastic network, affecting range and data rate.
  • GNSSGNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System). A multi-constellation satellite positioning receiver. Hardware listing GNSS support typically receives GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS and QZSS. Module
    • AT6558R
  • Battery Capacity
    • Rechargeable lithium battery, 1000mAh
  • Charging
    • USBUSB (Universal Serial Bus). The wired connection used to power a device, flash firmware onto it, and communicate with it over serial. magnetic charging cable

Features

  • Integrated button for reset and boot mode functionality.
  • Integrated acceleration sensor based on ST LIS2DH.
  • Four pogo pins for USBUSB (Universal Serial Bus). The wired connection used to power a device, flash firmware onto it, and communicate with it over serial., DFUDFU (Device Firmware Update). A state in which a device is placed into for it to receive a firmware update., serial logging, and charging.
  • IP66IP66An enclosure rating under IEC 60529. Dust-tight, and protected against powerful water jets. rated, waterproof and durable for various environments.

Functionality

  • User/Program Button (face):
    • Long press: Will signal the device to shutdown after 5 seconds.
    • Double press: Sends an adhoc ping of the device's position to the network.
    • Triple press: Enables/Disables the GPSGPS (Global Positioning System). A satellite positioning system. A node with a GPS module determines its own location and can report that position to the mesh. Module on demand.
    • Quadruple press: Temporarily mute or unmute device.
